Description

Algebra-Based is a college-level introductory physics course designed for high school students. It focuses on the foundational principles of physics, using algebra and basic trigonometry to explore the physical world. This course is equivalent to the first semester of a college physics class and prepares students for the AP Physics 1 exam.

Topics covered (along with AP exam weighting)

  • Kinematics in One and Two Dimensions (10-15%)
  • Force and Translational Dynamics (18-23%)
  • Work, Energy and Power (18-23%)

Target audience: 

This 30-hour course is ideal for students who

  • Plan to take AP Physics 1 in the upcoming school year
  • Plan to pursue STEM Majors in college
  • Are looking to gain confidence in Physics concepts before school year begins
  • Aiming to achieve 4 or 5 in the AP Physics 1 Exam
